Our bitches
Below is an overview of our bitches. Via the links you can visit the personal page of each bitch at dutchdogdata.nl and at lagotto.breedarchives.com. Dutchdogdata is the database of the Dutch Kennel Club (Raad van Beheer), where you can find all dogs registered in the studbook in the Netherlands and their official health results. lagotto.breedarchives.com is a public database built by breeders worldwide where you can enter, among other things, test combinations.
For our breeding programme, we work with a diverse group of dogs. The importance of genetic diversity combined with health and behaviour is always paramount for us.
We do not believe in only breeding with completely free parent animals or the lowest possible inbreeding percentage.
We base our breeding programme on the knowledge we have gained over the generations behind our dogs. We use this knowledge to make the lagotto population just a little bit better.
Because even if the inbreeding percentage over 6 generations is very low, if in the generations before these dogs there are dogs carrying the same undesirable trait then the chances of it coming back in the pups are very high.
Behaviour
It is still stated in several breed descriptions that the lagotto can be cautious, while this is not in the breed standard. We also see that the lagotto can show real fear and aggression, it is up to the breeder to take this into consideration for any proposed combination.
This means that breeders have a great responsibility in improving genetic behavioural components. In addition to ensuring a solid foundation for every puppy born.
Breeding with carriers van recessieve genen
We also breed with dogs that are carriers of hereditary defects known in the breed that emerge during DNA testing and recessive* in nature.
The advantage of continuing to use these dogs is that you also preserve the genetic variation in the breed. Of course, carriers are always combined with a partner who is free of the same hereditary problem known in the breed. This way, you make sure that puppies from these combinations will never develop the disease. Because to develop a recessive known disease problem, the pup has to get the gene from both parents.
Should we choose not to use the known genetic diseases in the breed we will have a narrower genetic base as a result. Which in turn may cause currently unknown diseases to be expressed.

Viva heeft zoveel mooie sucessen beleefd in de showring, ze was de wereldwinner van 2023, beste van het ras tijdens Crufts in 2024 en intussen kampioen in meerdere landen. Maar boven al is ze een geweldige hond om mee samen te leven.

About me
Chips is bij ons geboren en was het enige pupje in dat nest. Ze is de dochter van Pumpkin. Chips is een heel aanhankelijk hondje wat rustig in huis is en actief buiten. We hopen op haar tweede nestje in 2025.

Lala is bij ons geboren en was het enige teefje in het nestje. Ze is de dochter van Ginger. Lala is een heel slim hondje met een uitdagend karakter, ze werkt graag en veel. We hopen op haar eerste nestje in 2025.

Lala heeft tijdens de beperkte shows waaraan ze deelgenomen heeft hele mooie resultaten behaald. Als pup won ze beste puppy, beste gangwerk en constructie en beste vacht op de KCM van de LRCN. Ze is Italiaans jeugd kampioen en was 2e in een grote jeugdklasse met 32 inschijvingen gekeurd door Giovanni Morsiani tijdens de jaarlijkse clubshow van de Club Italiano Lagotto.

Figgy (we noemen haar ook wel Vijgje of Pudding) is bij ons geboren. Zij is een klein, ondeugend en zeer aanhankelijk hondje. Wij hopen in 2025 een nestje met met haar te fokken.

We hebben met Figgy deelgenomen aan een aantal tentoonstellingen. Ze is Nederlands jeugd kampioen en Nederlands kampioen geworden en was ook nog een beste teef op de kampieonschapsclubmatch in 2025.
